About RiskStack

RiskStack publishes independent research on Certificate of Insurance tracking software — the systems risk managers, general contractors and property teams use to collect, verify and monitor vendor insurance.

It exists because buying in this category is unusually hard. Pricing is rarely public, the differences that matter are architectural rather than visible in a demo, and most of the comparison content that ranks is written by the vendors themselves. We cover 9 platforms in depth rather than hundreds thinly.

Who writes it

Jesse Ariss is Principal Analyst, and the byline on the research.

Over the past decade he has worked on positioning and go-to-market for SaaS and financial services companies, including Vidyard, 3Play Media, and Manulife — one of North America's largest insurance and financial services organisations. That combination is the useful part for this beat: enough time inside insurance to know how the industry actually buys, and enough time in software marketing to recognise the gap between what a platform does and how it is sold.

His focus is category positioning — separating verified capability from marketing claim, which is the discipline behind the vendor profiles and the market quadrant. He is based in Waterloo, Ontario, and studied at the University of Waterloo. You can find him on LinkedIn.

How it is funded

Claiming a profile is free and always will be. Where we charge a vendor, it is for delivering buyer introductions that originate on their own profile page — a service, not placement. Nothing about an assessment, a quadrant position or a recommendation order is for sale. The full list of what cannot be bought is on our methodology page, along with how the scoring works.

How we work

• Profiles are written from public sources, practitioner and broker conversations, and hands-on review — not from vendor briefings alone.
• Vendors have a standing right of reply. Any of them can submit our analyst questionnaire from their profile and correct the record.
• Every change to a profile is made by a person after verifying the evidence. Nothing a vendor submits publishes automatically.
• We publish weaknesses as readily as strengths. A profile that only flattered its subject would be worth nothing to a buyer.
